December 21, 2012 The End

As you may know by now, according to Mayan prophecy on 12-21-12 the world may end as we know it. I had some time on my hands, so I was in Barnes and Noble and happened across December 21, 2012 For Dummies. Yes, there is a book with that title, and many more books I discovered. I chose the For Dummies book since that we the level of my knowledge on the subject.
Basically they say that leading up to 12-21-12 the Government and Religions will let us down and lead us astray. They could have added Wall Street and been complete. They say resources will be scarce. Well I think we have seen that trend, at least since the March 2009 lows. With Asia’s growth, I think that is safe prediction. End times are loosley interpreted, with at least one way of looking at it, there will be an awakening of some sorts. There is probably many different versions of what that might be from biblical to new age. But out with the old and in with the new way of thinking might not be so bad.
I just hope we don’t make this a Y2K repeat. Remember back at this same time in 1999 when the media got the whole country historical and convinced nothing was going to work at midnight on 12-31-1999 because all the computers were going to fail which would shut down our whole system, including banking, airports, you name it. There were “specials” on TV and radio, books, newsletters cropped up to tell people how to survive and people got really scared. But mostly I remember how people reacted and got really scared. They withdrew cash from banks, stocked up on food, bought new computer systems and hunkered down which really is not that bad except for the fear part. Always a good idea to be prepared in case of any emergency. Then midnight on 12-31-1999 came and went without any problems to note. But the point is that people got really really scared and I would hate to see that happen again over something like this.
Oh by the way, Nov 2012 is a presidential election year also. The media is going to love this. In the spot light will be the preachers, the politicians and the doomsayers. If enough is not going on, London will host the 2012 olympics - see their proposed logo at the top of this post. Can you believe how bad this 2012 olympics logo is… but looks appropriate for the end of the world.
Remind me to cancel my cable TV before 2012! But I will keep my Internet because I can look at what I want to, not what is forced upon me.

Poll Backs Obama Over Republicans - Georgia Disconnect
Author: Independent-voter
10 8th, 2009This from Bloomberg on Oct 9, 2009:
A survey found 64 percent of voters disapproving of the way Republicans in Congress are doing their jobs, with 25 percent approving. Also, 53 percent had an unfavorable opinion of the party in general, while 25 percent rated it favorably.
The performance of Democratic lawmakers was disapproved of by 56 percent, with 33 expressing approval. For the party in general, 46 percent expressed disapproval, 38 percent approval.
COMMENT: Wow, living in Georgia, you would never have guess this poll result. Of the people I come in contact with, about 95% it seems are strongly Republicans and strongly anti anything Obama does. At least in Georgia, but not apparently not the country. Very big disconnect.
Why is that? I would suppose religion and talk radio. That is my guess. Georgia people say they are religious, it is the central theme of their life. Another central theme is they are Republicans, and they HATE Obama and Nancy Pelosi with the passion of a revival preacher. The two themes seems to merge into one. All religious people would have to be Republicans in their view. If one were to put Democrat on their facebook profile, lord help them. Your closest friends would snarl at you. You must be a heathen if you are a Democrat and worse. Independents like myself are suspect and fare not much better. They say you don’t have VALUES. At least not their values.
Atlanta is the home to CONSERVATIVE talk radio across the dial. Neal Boortz is based here. Sean Hannity lived here and had his radio show in Atlanta for years before moving to NY and starting his TV show. Russ Limbaugh is most people’s hero and you can hear his show in the background when in the presence of service contractors up to corporate VPs. On a recent day I spun my car radio AM dial around and picked up Neal Boortz, Russ Limbaugh, Laura Ingle, Mark Levin, Glen Beck, Michal Savage and Dennis what’s his name the former comedian. Oh, there is the public radio station for a counter balance. They play contemporary music most of the time.
To continue the Bloomberg article says:“President Barack Obama’s approval rating has held at 50 percent over the past two months of high-intensity debate on health care and other issues,” said Peter Brown assistant director of the Hamden, Connecticut-based university’s polling institute. “And while the spotlight is on the president, Republicans are taking a public-opinion pounding.” The survey of 2,630 voters was conducted Sept. 29-Oct. 5 and has an error margin of plus-or-minus 1.9 percentage points.
COMMENT: I would swear they are making this stuff up. What planet are they on? Certainly not planet Georgia. From Georgia it seems like an error margin of say, 95%.
